Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
In the middle of one of the world’s most devastating humanitarian crises in the world, something quietly remarkable has taken shape, thanks to your generosity and support, BarakAllahu fikum.
A bakery. Warm, working, and providing hope⦠right in the heart of the Gaza Strip.
It may sound simple, but for the tens of thousands of families living in displacement camps, many of whom have lost everything over the past two years, a simple piece of bread is not a small thing.Ā
It is a meal that means no hungry night awaits them. It is a morning full of hope. It is the most basic assurance that someone, somewhere, has not forgotten them.
That bakery exists because of you.Ā
From Singapore, With Love
In April 2026, we received a letter from our brothers at Sawaed Youth Center in Gaza, Palestine. We want to share it with you, unedited and unpolished, because their words carry a weight that no paraphrase could do justice to.
They wrote:
“All praise is due to Allah, by whose grace and guidance we have established a charitable bakery in the Gaza Strip. This bakery now serves tens of thousands of families in displacement camps, providing them with the most essential source of sustenance ā bread ā amid extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.”
They went on to extend their gratitude to SimplyIslam and to our partners at SufiLive Organization, with special mention of our Director, Mohamed Nassir, and Shaykh Omar Qabbani, for their close follow-up and dedication in seeing this project through.
Reading their words, we felt the full weight of what this project means. It is not just as a charity initiative, but a thread of mercy stretched across thousands of miles, from Singapore and other parts of the world, all the way to the camps of Gaza.
What Your Giving Made Possible
The bakery is a lifeline for displaced families in Gaza, believe it or not.
Every day, it produces bread for families who have been displaced, who are living in temporary shelters, who have already endured more loss than most of us can imagine. For many of them, this bread is their primary source of food.
The people of Sawaed Youth Center closed their message with a du’a that we hold close:
“May Allah bless your generosity and reward you for your kindness.”
We pass that du’a on to every single one of you who purchased our essential kits, contributed, prayed for them or simply spread the word to raise awareness. Every act of goodness contributed to this.
The Work Continues
The bakery is running. But the need is ongoing.
Gaza is still in crisis. Families are still displaced. And the bakery still needs support to keep its doors open and its ovens warm.
If you have been waiting for a sign that your giving reaches the people who need it, this message is that sign. Your generosity is not disappearing into the unknown. They are becoming bread. They are becoming breakfast for a child in a displacement camp. They are becoming a moment of normalcy in the middle of extraordinary hardship.
We thank Allah for allowing us to be vessels of this goodness. We thank our partners at SufiLive and the tireless team at Sawaed Youth Center. And most of all, we thank you ā our community ā for continuing to show up for Gaza, even when the world looks away.
May Allah accept from all of us. Ameen.
