Join us for an enlightening lecture by Dr. Mohamed bin Ali as he explores the Qur’anic perspective on relations with others, emphasizing the noble character (akhlaq) that a Muslim believer should embody. The session will also highlight the remarkable historical event of the Christians of Najran visiting Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and how the Prophet (ﷺ) welcomed them. This lecture will underscore the universal principles of respect, kindness, and exemplary conduct that Muslims should uphold in their interactions with all people, regardless of their faith.
Ustadh Dr Mohamed Bin Ali is a Senior Fellow at the Studies in Inter-Religious Relations in Plural Societies (SRP) Programme, RSIS, NTU, Singapore. His research focuses on Islamic Jurisprudence, Islamist ideology, religious extremism, and the rehabilitation of Muslim extremists. Dr Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Shari’ah from the esteemed Al-Azhar University, Egypt. He furthered his studies and earned a Masters at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS-NTU). He later obtained a PhD in Arab & Islamic Studies from the University of Exeter. Since 2003, he has facilitated the rehabilitation of Jemaah Islamiyah detainees in Singapore, and is currently the Co-Chairman of the Religious Rehabilitation Group (RRG). He has lectured and presented extensively on Islamic issues and religious extremism. He is active in the community, serving as Chairman of Khadijah Mosque Management Board and holds various positions within MUIS, including Senior Associate Member of the Fatwa Committee. In 2022, he was awarded the Public Service Medal (PBM) by the President of Singapore.
