Mudarris Dr. Iskandar Abdullah is a PhD degree holder in Arabic studies from Mishkah University (Egypt). His interest in the study of the Qur’an is so deep that he is referred to as the ‘engineer of the Qur’an’ among his friends, due to his persistence in examining every word in the Qur’an, analyzing its letters, and presenting research summaries. Participants will learn to understand the different effective methods of learning Arabic language in a short period of time. The instructor will introduce techniques suitable for beginners to learn Arabic from scratch.
Participants will discover the ways of asking questions (who, what, why, how, where, what time, etc) and how to respond to the questions.
Participants will be introduced to universal and common phrases used in conversations. In this lesson, the instructor will begin with the basics of conversation which is greetings.
In this lesson, participants will learn about the Sun letters (حُرُوف الشَّمْس) which refers to a group of letters that are pronounced with an emphatic sound when they appear at the beginning of a word, and are followed by a vowel
In this lesson, participants will learn about the ‘Moon Letters’, letters which change their shape when they come after the Arabic definite article “ال” (al-).
In this lesson, participants will discuss the meanings and uses of some common Arabic prepositions: مِــن / From, إلى / To or At, عـَـن / From or About, etc.
In this lesson, participants will explore the adjectives of Arabic vocabulary used in common and daily conversations.
Following up from the previous lessons, participants will continue to explore the Arabic vocabulary used in common and daily conversations.
There are two types of possessive pronouns in Arabic: Attached and separate pronouns. In this lesson, participants will discover the two types of pronouns, its meanings and how to use them in specific contexts.
In this lesson, participants will learn about the name of the 12 Muslim months, its meanings and some historical facts of the months.
In this lesson, participants will explore the commonly used words, phrases and sentences used in common and daily conversations such as buying groceries, at the airport, asking for directions and more.
In this lesson, participants will learn how to tell time, learn the time by days, months and years in the Arabic language.
