Ustadh Muhammad Tarmizi Abdul Wahid (commonly known as Mizi Wahid) holds the esteemed position of Chief Executive Officer at Shariff Holdings Pte Ltd. Prior to assuming this role, he played a pivotal role in the Office of the Mufti, a unit within the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). Here, he served as the direct secretariat for the Mufti of Singapore and the Singapore Fatwa Committee. Following this, he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing Safinah Holdings. In a strategic business partnership with Vector Scorecard Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd, he led a dedicated curriculum development team.
In 2017, Ustadh Mizi Wahid was reappointed for his second term as a naib kadi (solemniser) in Singapore, a role he had previously served from 2011 to 2014. His academic journey includes graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Jurisprudence from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, in the year 2006.
In addition to his professional journey, Ustadh Mizi Wahid actively contributes to various community initiatives and organizations. His community involvement includes serving as a Director at AMP since 2019, where he is also a Member of the Media & Relations Resource Panel. He held the position of Additional Director at AMP from 2018 to 2019. Currently, he serves as a Director at RIMA (2022 – present) and holds the honorary position of President at the Singapore Islamic Scholars & Religious Teachers Association (PERGAS) since 2023. Furthermore, he has been an Honorary Member of the Council at PERGAS since 2018. Notably, Ustadh Mizi Wahid has been an Associate Member of the Singapore Fatwa Committee in various periods, namely from 2009 to 2010 and from 2017 to the present. His role as a Naib Kadi at the Registry of Muslim Marriages spans from 2011 to 2014 and continues in the present term from 2017 onward.
