Little Saim Retreat

Is your child of an age where they can start understanding the practices and significance of Ramadan? Are you thinking of starting them off on fasting this Ramadan? Have they learnt the basic du’as, practices and observances of Ramadan? And do they know what Ramadan truly means, and the importance of observing Ramadan with the respect it deserves?

If your child is on any of these paths above, you should consider sending them to our Little Saim camp, specially curated for Primary School kids to pick up the basics of Fasting in Ramadan, and some of the practices that they could embark on and observe this coming Ramadan.

SimplyIslam’s Little Saim retreat is a one-day non-residential retreat specially developed for Primary School kids to gear up for fasting. It will be conducted during the one-week March School Holidays and will bring together like-minded Muslim kids under one roof for a day of fun-filled experiential Islamic learning.

Participants will learn the integrals and meaning behind fasting; the basic du’as required; the importance and rewards of waking up for the pre-dawn meal (sahur); basic surahs from Juz Amma; the steps and practical application and observances of Tarawih and Eidi-al fitr Prayers; and the origin and significance of the momentous nights of Nuzul al-Qur’an and Lailatul Qadr.

Camp Objectives

• To inculcate children with the knowledge and practices of Ramadan
• To encourage children to fast and develop a love for fasting!
• To guide participants toward the memorisation of the intention of fasting, the du’a before pre-dawn meal and other selected surahs from Juz Amma.
• To learn the steps and practical application and observances of Tarawih and Eidi-al fitr Prayers
• To learn about the origin and significance of the momentous nights of Nuzul al-Qur’an and Lailatul Qadr.

Notes

Students are required to bring their prayer garb/telekung and individual prayer mats as they will be performing socially-distanced individual & sunnah prayers during the camp.
