Alhamdulillah. All Praises be to Allah Almighty. The idea for SimplyIslam.sg grew out of my experiences working for Muslim organisations in Singapore, namely the Muslim Converts Association of Singapore and the Abdul Aleem Siddique Mosque. These experiences highlighted the pressing need for accessible, English-led Islamic education to serve our fast-evolving and diverse community.

Driven by a deep desire to promote moderate and credible Islamic knowledge, I established SimplyIslam in 2006 with the help of close friends. Our humble beginnings were at the Al-Wehdah Arab Association in Singapore, and by Allah’s Grace, in 2009, we transitioned to our current headquarters at the historic Madrasah Al-Khairiah Al-Islamiah in eastern Singapore.

Since our inception, over the span of nearly two decades, SimplyIslam has witnessed tremendous growth. We now operate out of four centres in Singapore, currently serving more than 950 students through our Weekend Islamic School program, with hundreds more adults benefiting from our Islamic learning courses. To date, over 22,000 individuals have attended our classes and events.

More recently, Alhamdulillah, we’ve expanded internationally, establishing operations in Malaysia and the United Kingdom, and we are poised to bring SimplyIslam’s unique approach to Islamic education to a global audience, Insha’Allah.

As part of our ongoing efforts, we are committed to publishing more in-house books authored by both local and international scholars. To date, we have produced eight books for our weekend madrasah students, and we aspire to expand this library with more works tailored for students and general audiences alike.

Insha’Allah, 2025 will mark another significant milestone for SimplyIslam. We recently established SimplyIslam Global Ltd, a non-profit organisation that supports our charitable works locally and abroad. Our efforts include our annual Ramadan Charity Basket initiative and various humanitarian projects worldwide. Since 2017, we have been working with Sawaed Charity in Gaza to uplift lives through sustainable projects, including the construction of ten water wells. Following the outbreak of war in Gaza in October 2023, our humanitarian efforts have intensified significantly. With the support of international partners such as HNCO UK, Richworks International, and Sufilive, we have been able to distribute food, water, medicine, sanitary supplies, and other essential items, almost daily, bringing much-needed relief to those affected.

At the heart of Islam is the message of peace, mercy, and love, exemplified beautifully in the life of our Master Muhammad ﷺ. Alhamdulillah, we live in an era where advanced technologies allow us to share this message widely. Reflecting on this journey, I am filled with gratitude. None of this progress would have been possible without Allah’s Divine Mercy and Favours, the prayers of our scholars and supporters, and the relentless dedication of the SimplyIslam Team. We are grateful for His Divine Guidance in treading new ground to spread the peaceful message of Islam through our initiatives and programmes.

As we move forward, we seek your prayers for our continued growth and our ability to serve humanity. Let us remain inspired by the timeless wisdom of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.”

Join us in our journey as we collectively contribute to the betterment of our society and mankind. We have much to be thankful for in Singapore and our region. Allah has blessed us with peace and safety — a priceless blessing in today’s world marked by polycrises.
