Sheikh Afeefuddin, born in Baghdad, Iraq on 21st July 1972, is a descendant of the esteemed Al-Jailani family, renowned for its prominence in the Islamic World. As the 19th direct descendant of the esteemed Islamic scholar Al-Sheikh Al-Sayyid Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani R.A, known as the King of Saints, and the 33rd direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Sheikh Afeefuddin carries a rich legacy of scholarly heritage.
His lineage traces back to his great-great grandfather, Al-Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani R.A, widely recognized as one of the most universally acclaimed Islamic scholars and Sufi masters of all time. Sheikh Afeefuddin’s specialization lies in Fiqh, Shariah Laws, and Tasawuf (Sufism). He received guidance from esteemed scholars, including the late Mufti of Iraq, Al-Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Mudarri, who awarded him Al-Ijazah Al-Elmiyah, certifying his expertise in Islamic knowledge.
Sheikh Afeefuddin’s academic journey includes degrees and certifications from eminent scholars such as Dr. Ali Jumaah, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, and Dr. Ahmad Omar Hashim, the ex-Rector of Al-Azhar University, among others. His dedication to Islamic education and scholarship has earned him recognition as an Alim and Islamic scholar of high esteem.
Currently, Sheikh Afeefuddin is actively engaged in several impactful initiatives. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Al-Wariseen Trust, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the understanding of Islam and engaging in charitable activities. Additionally, he founded Darul Jailani International, an organization focused on contextualizing the teachings of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani for contemporary audiences. Through Darul Jailani, Sheikh Afeefuddin conducts educational classes and Da’wah activities across multiple countries, blending traditional Islamic learning with modern methodologies to reach a diverse global audience.
