Mohamed Nassir Abdul Sukkur
Chief Executive Officer
Mohamed Nassir graduated in December 2017 with a Masters Degree in the field of Religion in Global Politics from SOAS University of London (School of Oriental & African Studies). He also graduated with a First Class Honours Degree (B.Sc.) from Staffordshire University (UK) in 2001. He worked for many years in the software industry before spending some 8 years working for da’wah organisations like Darul Arqam Singapore & Abdul Aleem Siddique Mosque. He was listed in “The 500 Most Influential Muslims 2009” and “The 500 Most Influential Muslims 2010” [click to view] published by Jordan’s Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center [website]. He was recently mentioned in a Berita Harian article (“Kenali 50 Wajah”, Dec 2010) as among four individuals who are expected to play a crucial role in directing and shaping the ‘face’ of the Singapore Muslim community. In 2009, he was invited to participate in the Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow (MLT) global conference in Qatar (Jan 2009). In June 2011, he was a Discussion Leader on the subject of “Faith, Youth and Social Media” at the World Economic Forum in Jakarta. In March 2013, he was a discussion participant in Muslim Minority Leaders Colloquium in Paris.
Mohamed Nassir is a proponent of traditional Islam and denounces all forms of terrorism and extremism. He (and SimplyIslam) was featured in the documentary entitled “Misguided”, a 4-part documentary about terrorism (aired in January 2010) produced by Mediacorp Singapore [view excerpt]. He is regularly featured in the local media discussing issues of national and community interests, as well as his active role in the initiative, Aid to Syrian Refugees in Turkey (ASRIT) [website].
Together with some concerned individuals, he established SimplyIslam in 2006 and is its Founder & Chief Executive Officer.
Ustadh Muhammad Salleh Bin Abdul Aziz
Director, Academic Operations
Ustaz Muhammad Salleh is a graduate of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah and completed his full-time pre-university studies at the madrasah. He also studied at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is an accredited Asatizah certified by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asatizah Recognition Board. He was SimplyIslam’s Arabic Language Coordinator and Course Coordinator and regularly conducts translation and interpretation assignments (Arabic<>English). He has taught Islamic studies to tertiary students at SimplyIslam’s weekend Islamic school. He has a flair and deep interest for Prophetic healing and medicine and regularly conducts SimplyIslam’s popular “Prophetic Healing” course.
He is currently the Director of Academic Operations at SimplyIslam. He is proficient in Arabic, English and Malay. He is married with 2 children.
Ustadh Masruhan Kyai Choteb
Principal & Scholar-in-Residence
Ustaz Masruhan is SimplyIslam’s full-time resident scholar and is a Hafiz of the Qur’an and a renowned scholar and writer. His Islamic education was mainly pursued in Indonesia (to Degree level), thereupon he went on to complete his Masters Degree at Universiti Malaya (Malaysia). He is currently completing his Ph.D. at the same university. He has written over 40 books and for several years he was also the Imam Executive of Masjid Abdul Aleem Siddique (Singapore). He also conduct regular Islamic religious classes at Masjid Sultan (Singapore).

Noor Nachiar Abdul Sukkur
Noor Nachiar is SimplyIslam’s Finance Executive. Everyone here is nice to her not only because she’s nice to everyone but also because none of us gets our salary if not for her. (Thank you Mdm Finance!) Before working at SimplyIslam, she was working handling the accounts at a renowned money changer for more than 7 years. Noor Nachiar has attended LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry)’s program for Accounting and Bookkeeping. She is married with 2 adult children.
Siti Hamilah Sulaiman
Head, Admin & Customer Service
Siti Hamilah is SimplyIslam’s Head of Admin & Customer Service. She’s in charge of our customer journey and experience. She has previously worked at a couple of international airlines, and her experience in customer care is invaluable in developing our customer care programs. She is married with 2 children.
Muhammad Khalid Bin Ibrahim
Head, Digital Engagements
Khalid Ibrahim is an experienced wordsmith and a soccer enthusiast. He has been involved in writing or editing for a number of magazines including Playworks, T3, XBox Brotherhood of the Box, GameAxis, HardwareZone and Yada for the last so many years. He later helmed a social-enterprise project called Qiswah, developing humanitarian projects locally and abroad. He joined SimplyIslam in May 2018 as it’s Head of Digital Engagements, and is overseeing of all of SimplyIslam’s digital/social media postings, marketing and engagements.
Ustadh Syed Mohsen Alsagoff
A. Vice Principal, SimplyIslam Weekend Islamic School
Syed Mohsen Alsagoff graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Theology (Usuluddin) from Yarmouk University, Jordan. He spent a good 12 years covering his primary, secondary and pre-university Islamic studies at Singapore’s prestigious Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah, known for its eminence in Islamic scholarship in Southeast Asia. Syed Mohsen has a deep interest in Fiqh or Islamic Jurisprudence, as well as other Islamic sciences, particularly in the field of tafsir or exegesis, and the Prophetic biography or Sirah. He has attained many ijazahs from an array of Islamic scholars, both local and abroad.
Merchandiser, Baraka Bazaar
Kamarudin Mailah runs SimplyIslam’s online Islamic store – Baraka Bazaar (www.barakabazaar.com). He worked for many years as a technician and later in the logistics sector. Kamarudin is part of a popular local qasidah group called Singapore Haqqani Ensemble, but cannot let go of his musical “rock” past and is often heard shouting “Rock never die!”, after singing rock songs in the office. He is married with 3 boys.
Saira Elley is one of the Directors at SimplyIslam, and is a member of SimplyIslam’s Board of Advisors. She has a wide experience in serving the Malay-Muslim community, having worked for some years at Mendaki, and was also a member of the Alkaff Kg Melayu Mosque Management Board. For some years she was also a volunteer at Abdul Aleem Siddique Mosque and Darul Arqam Singapore. She also worked part-time as a Relief Teacher at Coral Primary School. She once worked full-time as SimplyIslam’s Admin Manager, overseeing the Weekend Islamic School and administrative affairs.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature & Psychology. She is married and is passionate about SimplyIslam, and speaks with great pride and conviction about the organisation and the values it upholds.
Feisal Jamil Marican
Feisal Marican is a member of SimplyIslam’s Board of Advisors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) Degree from Upper Iowa University (USA) majoring in Mass Communications and Marketing, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from University of Luton (UK). He is currently a Consultant in corporate management, business projects, human resources, MICE, CSR initiatives, and community & social development programs. He specialises in Livestock services & Meat provision, and is the representative for Global Livestock Ltd (Ireland) for their business engagements in the Middle East & Asia – presenting a Livestock Hub proposal for the region.
Feisal Marican was selected to represent Singapore in the US State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program in 2008, speaking on Public Diplomacy & Civic Action. He was invited as a delegate in the Muslim Minority Leaders Colloquium in Paris (March 2013). He was also a member of the Mosque Management Board at Abdul Aleem Siddique Mosque for 3 terms and a Member of the Youth Development Board at Mendaki, Singapore. He currently sits in the Inter Religious Confidence Circle (IRCC) under the Joo Chiat Community Club Branch. He has organized & participated in various interfaith dialogues & signature events – notably introducing & chairing the Inter Faith Games since inception. He currently serves as a Grassroots Leader with Pasir Ris Residents Council.
He has led several community assistance programs in Singapore including humanitarian projects in Aceh (post-tsunami) & the Aid to Syrian refugees in Turkey. He continues to play an integral role in consultancy work, inter-faith projects & socio-religious programs working in liaison with local organizations, visiting personalities globally and regional contacts in South-east Asia. He is married & blessed with 3 boys and 1 daughter.
