{"id":4419,"date":"2013-05-07T15:52:01","date_gmt":"2013-05-07T07:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/?p=4419"},"modified":"2013-05-13T10:38:58","modified_gmt":"2013-05-13T02:38:58","slug":"poem-qaqa-ibn-amr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/poem-qaqa-ibn-amr\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem: Qaqa Ibn Amr"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Qaqa Ibn Amr<\/p>\n<p>In countless pages of history<br \/>\nLies a tale of heroics and bravery<br \/>\nSeldom told, almost forgotten<br \/>\nThe events that occurred<br \/>\nAfter the battle of Murtadeen.<\/p>\n<p>The caliph issued an order<br \/>\nTo the general Khalid ibn Walid<br \/>\nThe time has come to strike the superpower<br \/>\nThe tyrant Persians who corrupted the lands<br \/>\nBut allow your men, who has fought many battles before<br \/>\nTo go home, if they so please.<\/p>\n<p>And he made the announcement to the 13,000 in his ranks<br \/>\nThe reason could be fear<br \/>\nThe reason could be fatigue<br \/>\nAnd whatever the reason might be<br \/>\nOnly 2,000 decided to stay<\/p>\n<p>So the general wrote a letter to the caliph<br \/>\nThat he was about to face the superpower with 2000 men<br \/>\nHow could he achieve victory?<\/p>\n<p>And the Caliph replied<br \/>\nI will send you reinforcement<br \/>\nNote the singularity of the noun above<br \/>\nFor the caliph sent only one man<br \/>\nQaqa ibn Amr<\/p>\n<p>And the council questioned his decision<br \/>\nFor sending one to replace 11,000<br \/>\nWhich he famously replied<br \/>\n&#8220;The ranks which have the likes of Qaqa ibn Amr will never be forsaken by Allah&#8221;<br \/>\nAnd they achieved victory<\/p>\n<p>And within those countless pages of history<br \/>\nThere was a time where there were countless men of substance<br \/>\nAnd within that countless count<br \/>\nThere was Qaqa ibn Amr<br \/>\nAnd many more<br \/>\nSeldom told, almost forgotten<\/p>\n<p>The man who carried his mother on his back<\/p>\n<p>In countless pages of history<br \/>\nLies a tale of gratuity<br \/>\nSeldom told, almost forgotten<br \/>\nThe tale of a man who carried his mother on his back<\/p>\n<p>And Abdullah Ibn Umar<br \/>\nWitnessed this man from Yemen<br \/>\nWho carried his mother on his back<br \/>\nWhile circling the house of God<br \/>\nAnd this man who is making the tawaf<br \/>\nWhile carrying his mother on his back<br \/>\nRecites a poem<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That today for my mother<br \/>\nI am like an obedient animal<br \/>\nAnd if anything was to scare or stop me<br \/>\nToday I will stand steadfast&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then he approaches Abdullah Ibn Umar<br \/>\nAnd he asked him<br \/>\n&#8220;Tell me,<br \/>\nI have carried my mother on my back<br \/>\nTravelled from Yemen<br \/>\nAnd completed every ritual of Haj<br \/>\nAnd I have carried my mother on my back<br \/>\nFor longer than the period<br \/>\nShe had carried me in his womb<br \/>\nTell me,<br \/>\nHave I earned my right?<br \/>\nHave I fulfilled my responsibilities?&#8221;<br \/>\nOf serving mother<br \/>\nHave I fulfilled that right?<\/p>\n<p>And Abdullah Ibn Umar says<br \/>\n&#8220;No!
