{"id":4057,"date":"2013-01-15T12:03:07","date_gmt":"2013-01-15T04:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/?p=4057"},"modified":"2013-01-15T12:14:40","modified_gmt":"2013-01-15T04:14:40","slug":"khutbah-reflections-rabiulawwal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/khutbah-reflections-rabiulawwal\/","title":{"rendered":"Khutbah Reflections: Rabiulawwal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The khutbah by Ustaz Tengku Mohd Fouzy Bin Tengku Mahid Jumat (or better known as Ustaz TM Fouzy) at Masjid Al-Istiqamah on 11<sup>th<\/sup> January 2013<\/p>\n<p>Rabiulawal was the month of the birth as well as the ascension to prophethood of our beloved Prophet Muhammad(S). It\u2019s an opportune time to for us to reflect on how special he really is. Of all our <em>amal<\/em>, Allah SWT did not do any of them Himself before commanding them of us; Allah did not establish <em>salah<\/em>, fast, paid <em>zakat<\/em> nor went for <em>hajj<\/em> before they were commanded of us. None save one, the act of giving <em>salawat<\/em> to the Rasulullah (S).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4058\" title=\"khutbah tm1\" src=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"391\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm1.jpg 652w, https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm1-300x69.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 391px) 100vw, 391px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.<br \/>\n(Surah Al-Azhab, ayat 57)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Whether we\u2019re consciously aware of it or not, we too are giving <em>salawat<\/em> to Rasulullah(S) in every <em>salah <\/em>that we establish during the <em>tahiyyat<\/em>. Be it the obligatory (<em>wajib<\/em>) or supererogatory (<em>sunnah<\/em>) ones. However, instead of giving it ourselves, in our <em>salah<\/em> we ask Allah to do it on our behalf because the perfect <em>salawat <\/em>can only be given by Him.<\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4059\" title=\"khutbah tm2\" src=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"40\" srcset=\"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm2.jpg 683w, https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm2-300x29.jpg 300w, https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/khutbah-tm2-678x67.jpg 678w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Allahumma salli \u2018ala sayyidina Muhammad wa \u2018ala alihi sayyidina Muhammad.<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Oh Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad and the family of our master Muhammad.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When the khatib stressed the significance of that <em>ayah<\/em> it was like a switch being turned on in my head. I didn\u2019t realize how significant that act was. \u00a0I must have said it at least a hundred times before but I\u2019ve never really contemplated it. This was something that Allah Himself did and made known to us (sent blessings to Rasulullah(S)) after which His <em>malaikah<\/em> (angels)<em> <\/em>asked Him to do before <strong>We <\/strong>were told to do the same (ask Allah to send blessings to Rasulullah(S)).<\/p>\n<p>During <em>salah Jumu&#8217;ah<\/em>, I slowed down in my recitation to try and really mean what I said especially during the <em>tahiyyat akhir<\/em>. When we\u2019re giving <em>salam<\/em> to Rasulullah(S) in our <em>salah<\/em>, the specific words in Arabic that were used is meant to address someone that is right in front of us. It\u2019s no mistake. Though not physically, he is near to us spiritually.<\/p>\n<p>One can\u2019t be called a Muslim until he\/she accepts that there is no god but Allah <strong><em>and <\/em><\/strong>that the Prophet Muhammad(S) is a messenger of Allah. Such is the status of Rasulullah(S) in Islam that the belief in him <strong>must<\/strong> follow suit in the belief of Allah.<\/p>\n<p>May this month of Rabiulawwal bring us ever closer to our Prophet Muhammad (S).<\/p>\n<p>[divider]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Fadhuli Taufek<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Fadhuli is an aspiring writer and believes in putting in the time and effort into meaningful causes.
