{"id":3331,"date":"2012-07-17T08:00:19","date_gmt":"2012-07-17T00:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/?p=3331"},"modified":"2012-07-10T11:46:23","modified_gmt":"2012-07-10T03:46:23","slug":"the-month-of-ramadan-its-virtues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/the-month-of-ramadan-its-virtues\/","title":{"rendered":"The Month of Ramadan &#038; Its Virtues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a narration recorded by Imam Ahmad on the authority of Salman Al Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The Messenger of Allah (S) addressed us on the last day of the month of Sha\u2019ban and said, \u201cO men, there has come upon you a great month, a blessed month, in it is \u2018Laylatul Qadr\u2019 which is better than a thousand months. Allah has made fasting in it obligatory and the night prayer therein a voluntary act of worship.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Whoever seeks to draw close to Allah therein with a good act, it is as though he has discharged an obligation in other months. Whoever discharges an obligation in it, it is as though he has carried out 70 obligations in other months. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is a month or patience and the reward for patience is paradise.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is a month for accommodating and comforting people.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is a month in which the sustenance of the believer is increased. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Whoever provides for a fasting person so that he may break his fast, he would gain the reward of freeing a slave and attain forgiveness for his sins.\u201d We (the Prophet\u2019s companions) said, \u201cNot all of us have the means to provide for a fasting person to break his fast.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>He (S) said, \u201cAllah would give this reward to whoever who provides a gulp of milk or a drink of water or a date for the fasting person to break his fast, and whoever satiates the hunger of the fasting person, he would receive forgiveness for his sins and his Lord would give him drink from my Fount (\u2018Al Hawdh\u2019 on the Day of Judgment) after which he would suffer no thirst ever and he would receive the equivalent of the reward of the fasting person without any decrease in his reward.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is a month, the beginning of which is mercy, the middle of it is forgiveness and the end of it is freedom from hell fire. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Whoever lightens the workload of his servant in it, Allah would free him from hellfire and so do a lot of 4 things in it. 2 acts with which you would please your Lord and 2 acts that you cannot do without.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As for the 2 acts with which you please your Lord, they are the testimony that there is no god besides Allah and the seeking of His forgiveness.
