{"id":3177,"date":"2012-05-30T11:10:39","date_gmt":"2012-05-30T03:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/?p=3177"},"modified":"2012-05-30T11:21:42","modified_gmt":"2012-05-30T03:21:42","slug":"poem-lower-your-gaze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/poem-lower-your-gaze\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem: Lower Your Gaze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/milk.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3178\" title=\"monotone macro milk drop\" src=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/milk.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/milk.jpg 400w, https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/milk-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;There once was a lad who couldnt lower his gaze,<br \/>\nDestraught and disappointed he tried many ways,<br \/>\nFinally he decided to go to a shaykh well known,<br \/>\nAnd ask him advice for his desperation had grown<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The shaykh said to him, indeed but you\u2019ve come to ask<br \/>\nAbout something great, first though I have a task<br \/>\nI have a friend of mine, on the other side of town<br \/>\nAnd I have a daily gift I give him before every sun down<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It was a bowl of milk almost filled to the top<br \/>\nHe said take this here bowl and don\u2019t spill a drop!<br \/>\nI am sending with you a friend with great vision<br \/>\nTo make sure that you make no mistakes in your mission!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The lad began to walk with the bowl in his hands,<br \/>\nWishing them steady, he dared not break a command,<br \/>\nFor every step that he took, his guide watched with pierced eyes<br \/>\nAs if waiting for any mistake to arise<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When his task was over he return to the sage<br \/>\nAnd said, the task is done, now show me the way!<br \/>\nHe said, \u2018you have done well but first let me see,<br \/>\nDid you happen to see the house with the gigantic tree?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The lad said, no, I\u2019m sorry, I was not aware<br \/>\nWell, you passed my uncle\u2019s street, did you see him there?<br \/>\nThe lad said, no I did not see an uncle or tree<br \/>\nThe milk would have spilled if I looked upward you see!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And I was so nervous because your friend did not blink,<br \/>\nSo I watched every step, and thats all I could think!<br \/>\nThe Shaykh smiled and said, leave now, for this task<br \/>\nHas answered the question you had wished to ask,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The milk that you carried with focus throughout<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Was your book of deeds, much more important no doubt<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you were nervous by one who records your every mistake<br \/>\nKnow that there are angels who write, if such allowance you make<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Life is a similar journey, but to a different address,<br \/>\nSo be gone, and focus young lad, I wish you the best!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ammarpoetry\" target=\"_blank\">Br.
