{"id":1814,"date":"2011-08-15T08:00:56","date_gmt":"2011-08-15T00:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/?p=1814"},"modified":"2011-08-08T11:59:17","modified_gmt":"2011-08-08T03:59:17","slug":"ramadan-reflections-the-ummah-like-clockwork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/ramadan-reflections-the-ummah-like-clockwork\/","title":{"rendered":"Ramadan Reflections: The Ummah, Like Clockwork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I rely on the serene simplicity of spirituality\u00a0<em>In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful<\/em>. \u00a0The beautiful diversity of Muslims seen at the mosque, women adorned in silky fabrics of a spectrum of colours, bright laughter matched with the light of their smiles: \u00a0religion at its finest. \u00a0We are one soul, one\u00a0<em>Ummah<\/em>, fasting together for\u00a0<em>Rida<\/em>, the peaceful tranquility to the will of Allah.<\/p>\n<p>[quote]We sink our teeth into the date at the same time, a unity in breaking our\u00a0<em>Sawm<\/em>, a gesture so simple but speaks so many words.[\/quote]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/taraweeh.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1815\" title=\"taraweeh\" src=\"http:\/\/muzlimbuzz.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/taraweeh.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/taraweeh.jpg 500w, https:\/\/simplyislam.sg\/muslimbuzz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/taraweeh-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>[pullquote_left]We are one soul, one\u00a0<em>Ummah<\/em>, fasting together for\u00a0<em>Rida<\/em>, the peaceful tranquility to the will of Allah.[\/pullquote_left]<\/p>\n<p>We are all one body, composed of organs and cells and veins and heart that beats strongly against all. \u00a0I love being embraced and kissed by beautiful old women, their stories imprinted into the wrinkles of their skin and the faint pulsing of their hearts. \u00a0Children running around and playing\u00a0among\u00a0one another, little girls enhanced in their little scarves, little boys adorning their little caps while their mothers look at them with shining eyes with gratefulness to God: \u00a0their children were born into such a precious religion. \u00a0They scold their children flippantly, and usher them into a small circle\u2014our future Ummah\u2014telling them stories of our beloved prophets. \u00a0Their voice is one, enchanting and hypnotizing, their words wrapped around their gestures, their whispers and pitches of phrases. The children do not hear their words, they<em>smell<\/em> their words, and even we become intoxicated.
